TBC at Storymoja
From the 16th -20th of September, 2015 the eighth annual Storymoja Festival will be in full swing at the Nairobi Arboretum grounds. Storymoja (one story) is a four-day celebration of books and ideas bringing thousands of readers together with leading writers and thinkers from all over Africa. There are master classes, poetry performances, theater, and music.
The Storymoja Festival started out as a small gathering of 300 people in 2007, and has grown to a vibrant gathering of the greatest minds in Kenya and beyond, celebrating ideas and culture. The festival offerings are dynamic and diverse to cater for all age groups.
Books are brought to life through poetry, storytelling, lively discussions with local and international artists, music, workshops, film and much more. In addition, topical issues such as health, careers, politics, technology, human rights, environment entrepreneurship and youth empowerment are presented in very interactive and stimulating sessions. This year, TBC will pitch tent at this year’s festival, were we’ll be showcasing our Africana collection. People who think of African writing think of it in a narrow sense. Romance stories or science fiction aren’t often considered to be forms of African writing. This year’s festival will hopefully help change that.
